Leading Retail business seeking a Finance Systems Analyst to join the team. The key responsibility of this role is to play an active part in helping improve systems to drive business efficiencies and improve internal controls.

Responsibilities:

Provide hands on support to EDI functionality. Be a liaison between EDI solution provider, IT, Vendors and all other end users.
Onboard new vendors and assist with system enquiries.
Data extraction and reporting skills using available SQL or application tools.
Develop and maintain reports consisting of financial data as well as supplemental non-financial information.
Gain an understanding of the interaction within our systems for finance, buying, logistics, depot operations and warehouses, and identify opportunities for enhancements.
Provide assistance with the resolution of discrepancies by extracting and analysing data, logs and reports from various systems.
Assist in the projects which are ongoing in the finance area, propose solutions and help us drive them through all the way to testing and implementation.
Create and maintain documentation, system configuration, user guides and other information assets related to our accounting/business systems.
Ensure the integrity of system data and ensure controls are in place. Where necessary, work with the financial controller and IT director to develop and enhance controls.
Assist in period end reporting routine and management reports.
Assist in other areas of the business as required.

Position Requirements:

3+ years’ experience in a similar role, e.g. Finance Systems Analyst, Systems Accountant.
Experience with EDI (highly advantageous)
Experience with querying and reporting tools including familiarity with Microsoft Access.
Experience in analytics and Excel Spreadsheets. Knowledge of VBA is an advantage.
Ability to think holistically, identify inefficiencies and control deficiencies and develop solutions to drive efficiency and improve controls.
Sound knowledge of accounting concepts.
A problem solver with strengths in logical and analytical thinking.
Strong communication and presentation skills
