We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our team at the Office of the Mayor and Councillors in the position of Coordinator Civic Engagement. Reporting to the Executive Officer to the Mayor and Councillors, this challenging role will deliver a strategic civic engagement program with creative civic events and communications opportunities. You will manage a small team to provide quality administrative support to Councillors, including coordination of key meetings, invitations, management of community enquiries and providing leadership, oversight and direction for the Office.

You will be responsible for:

Providing confidential, professional and efficient support to the Elected Members to assist them to meet the requirements of their role, including administrative support.
Working alongside the City’s communications team, to manage and implement the Elected Members Community Engagement Strategy.
Planning and delivering quality civic events and functions, including but not limited to citizenship ceremonies and civic receptions.
Motivating and leading a small team of Civic Events and Engagement Officers.

To be successful you will have:

Relevant qualifications in a Communications related discipline and / or a minimum of 5 years work experience in related field, including supervising staff.
Strong administrative skills with knowledge of the full MS-Office suite, along with exceptional time management and coordination skills.
Highly developed interpersonal, oral & written communication skills, including the preparation of reports, correspondence and marketing/promotional materials.
Demonstrated experience in developing, coordinating and implementing a diverse range of civic events and related engagement activities.

This fulltime Level 7 position attracts a pro-rata salary range of $91,012 - $96,768 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.
