The Workforce Strategy Branch is part of the Corporate Enabling Group. The branch is responsible for strategic workforce planning, organisational design and job design, and building a culture that supports the future workforce. Workforce Planning and Strategy professionals support the development and implementation of enterprise wide HR strategies, outcomes, policies and programs in line with legislative and organisational objectives.

The Assistant Director - Workforce Planning and Strategy roles focus' on future workforce considerations. They manage small teams to ensure high quality design, delivery and improvement of a range of HR strategies including but not limited to: workforce planning, enterprise culture, organisational development and design. Assistant Directors will have a range of skills and experience related to enterprise workforce strategies and will harness expertise both within the branch and across the agency to provide a holistic people solution.

The key duties of the position include

Develop, investigate and analyse scenario options for future strategies (workforce modelling).
Administer the agency's Job Design Framework and ensure adherence to portfolio job analysis and design methodology including the development of job statements.
Lead projects for the branch: determining the scope, approach and deliverables as well as coordinating planning, reporting, implementation and evaluation of enterprise outcomes and conducting research and analysis to identify trends and recommend solutions to strategic workforce issues
Provide specialist strategic workforce advice informed by a sound knowledge of enterprise shifts and contemporary HR principles and practices.
Undertake research to understand the broader labour market, systemic departmental wide behaviours and census results for consideration in long term planning.
Build and manage relationships with the broader shared services and Australian Public Service (APS) environment to ensure alignment and innovation to the workforce strategy.
Lead and manage staff.
Contribute to branch and divisional planning and work deliverables.
