About us

At the Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO), our vision is to ensure that every Aboriginal person in NSW has equal access to and choice in, affordable housing.

We’re changing the way we do things to deliver better housing solutions to our clients and the community and we need you to help us get there.

The AHO is part of the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE).

The AHO manages and coordinates a substantial annual capital works program, and the development and implementation of a range of financial and resourcing strategies throughout the state.

About the role

The Project Manager, Path to Positive Client Outcomes role is within the Policy and Evidence team and reports to the Director Policy and Evidence.

The key responsibilities of the role includes leading the co-design and implementation of pilot demonstration sites that facilitate partnerships between Aboriginal organisations and NSW Government agencies to create culturally appropriate wrap-around support services. Also, lead the continuity of programs that communities value and contribute to better outcomes for Aboriginal people.

This is a temporary role in accordance with the Government Sector Employment Act 2013 for a period of up to 30th June 2022.

Essential requirements

Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal cultural beliefs and attitudes and of the socio-economic position of Aboriginal people within Australian society, and of their impacts in relation to housing.
A thorough understanding of the Aboriginal political and historical impacts upon policy developments in NSW and nationally in relation to Aboriginal land rights, and Aboriginal land use.
Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.

Preferred Requirements

Demonstrated experience in leading the development, evaluation, and implementation of social housing related programs.
Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and external agencies.

Salary range $128,089 - $148,134 pa plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
