Mental Health Clinician - Bushfire Recovery

About You:

This position is open to Occupational Therapist / Social Worker Level 4, Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 3

You find it easy to establish and nurture relationships across a wide range of individuals, providing an empathetic ear and a level of support and advice suited to the client. An understanding of localised challenges would be of great benefit to you in the role.

With similar positions across the district you will have a number of levels of support within the organisation. Further support for the position is provided by the broader community health team and those in positions currently supporting the region in relation to the recent and ongoing drought.

About the position:

As part of a government response to the 2019-20 bushfire season, the Bushfire Recovery – Specialist Mental Health Clinician will work within a stepped care framework in collaboration with general and clinical practitioners as well as the Bushfire Recovery Coordinator to ensure people within fire affected communities have access the right level of mental health care for their individual needs.

Tenterfield sits astride the Great Dividing Range at the northern end of the New England Highway 18kms from the Queensland border and a three hour drive from Brisbane. Surrounded by national parks and vineyards the town is also a historical paradise, with schools, child care centres, dining options and places of worship. There is also a wide variety of accommodation options, ensuring suitable housing for all new residents to the area.
