Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies. EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice & Community Safety (the Department). The Department, through the Secretary, employs EMV staff and provides corporate functions to EMV. EMV is led jointly by the Chief Executive (CE) and the Emergency Management Commissioner (EMC).

Manager Emergency Management Operational Information Systems

Reporting to the Director Technology you will lead the EM Technology Support & Development team to to maintain and enhance key emergency management operational information and communication systems through the provision of configuration/change management, testing, monitoring, incident management, training and helpdesk services. Key accountabilities include:

* Lead and manage the EM Technology Support & Development functions and team to ensure key emergency management operational information and communication systems used nationally, state and regionally to support all levels of emergency, are continuously operating and dependable.
* Develop, implement and maintain the Departments policies, plans and procedures in the fields of technology and systems, which includes managing and auditing Information & Intelligence Security, managing key IT Infrastructure and systems, including hardware and software.
* Collaboratively engage across all partner agencies in order to promote interconnectivity and form long-term recommendations about future innovation and improvements to technology and systems.
* Assess State Control Centre/Regional Control Centre/Incident Control Centre technology and systems, including Business Continuity policies and procedures, to determine how well they support periods of Response mode.

To be successful you will have:

* Tertiary IT qualifications, ITIL certification or a related discipline
* Strong knowledge of computer technology and operating systems within the emergency management sector desirable
* Knowledge and understanding of the issues relevant to use of technology systems in emergency management is desirable.
