ABOUT THE ROLE:

Albury / Wodonga is nestled on the banks of the Murray River and Hume Weir. The region offers water sports, snow fields, wineries, national parks and access to tourist towns such as Beechworth, Bright, Rutherglen, Yackandandah. Albury / Wodonga is a cultural hub for restaurants, markets, art and theatre and boasts a large regional shopping precinct. With numerous sporting clubs and plenty of schooling options both public and private, the city has so much to offer.

The Allied Health department at Mercy Health Albury provides services to both inpatient and community programs. The team consists of physiotherapists, OTs, dietitian, social workers, speech pathologist and Allied Health Assistants. This position requires a dynamic Physiotherapist to work as part of the multidisciplinary team within Mercy Health which provides services to the older person in our community therapy unit and inpatient units.

2 part time positions available, option to combine the positions for full time work until September 2021
1 x fixed term part time position - 32 hours a fortnight (maternity leave until September 2021)
Assessment and interventions for Aged Care clients in an inpatient setting (GEM, Palliative Care) using evidence-based practice
1 x Permanent part time position - 44 hours a fortnight
Assessment and interventions for primarily Aged Care clients in a community/ outpatient setting using evidence-based practice
Provide quality client-focused physiotherapy services to the patients, their families and others

ABOUT YOU:

Bachelor of degree or higher in physiotherapy with current AHPRA registration
Minimum two (2) years’ experience working as a physiotherapist, preferably with experience in aged care field.
High level communication skills – verbal and written
Understanding of complex care for older people and interest in the aged population
Ability to work independently and in a team
