The Role

Undertake a range of diagnostic, technical repair and servicing activities to a range of motor vehicles to support and enhance the reputation of. Deliver quality mechanical servicing in a timely manner that will enable Motorserve Car Servicing to be the “industry best”.

Salary $40k - $60k + super depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure total customer satisfaction by performing quality mechanical servicing, maintenance and repairs of vehicles in a timely manner.
Diagnose faults and carry out servicing utilising appropriate work practices, techniques, tools and equipment.
Ensure “good honest car serving” by providing accurate quotations to customers.
Ensure timesheets and job records are updated and accurately kept.
Clock on and off jobs to ensure you accurately record the time required for each repair and to ensure productivity and efficiency reports reflect work practice.
Maintain the mechanic workshop in a clean, safe and professional condition.
Assist with the evaluation and road testing of customer’s vehicles.
Assist the Store Manager achieve budgets by minimising unnecessary expenditure.
Where required, wash and detail vehicles
Ensure commitment and compliance to Occupational Health & Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity legislation and company policies. All activities must be carried out in a safe environment using safe work practices

Essential Skills

Trade qualifications as a Motor Mechanic combined with the successful completion of an apprenticeship and some experience (typically in excess of twelve (12) months) in repairing and maintaining a range of motor vehicles
MVRIA Licence or equivalent
Good diagnostic skills
Experience in the use of a range of tools and equipment associated with the mechanical workshop operation
Knowledge and experience in the service and maintenance of a broad range of makes and models of motor vehicles
Basic oral and written communication skills
Ability to organise and co-ordinate tasks in order to perform jobs in the most efficient manner
Ability to interpret and apply instructions and tasks
Ability to part of a high performing team.
Adherence to timeliness, including being reliable and punctuality
Attention to detail
Demonstrated customer service focus
Ability to work in co-operation with other employees and contractors
Ability to discuss and resolve problems
Ability to interpret spare parts manuals and CD’s
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Desirable

E-Safety (pink slip) licence and post trade qualifications

Special Requirements

Must be available to work weekends (Saturdays) as required
Must hold a current drivers licence
