What you'll be doing

The position involves the supply of biomedical technical support to the Prince of Wales and other Randwick Campus Hospitals. This position focuses on the repair, maintenance and safety testing of equipment for the hospitals in the group in compliance with Australian Standard AS3551.

This is a full time shift work position. You must be able to commit to the rotational roster of day shifts and afternoon shifts.

Our service hours are Monday to Friday with the earliest shift commencing 7am and finishing 3.30pm and the latest shift commencing 10.30am and finishing 7pm. There will be occasional Saturday shifts which provide an opportunity to work Tuesday to Saturday. The applicable shift allowances are provided.

Must hold one of the following qualifications: the Biological Technicians Certificate, the Chemistry Certificate, the Nuclear Medicine Technician's Certificate, the Pathology Technicians Certificate, the Pathology Technicians Higher Certificate, the Associate Diploma of Health Sciences (Pathology Techniques) of the Department of Technical and Further Education, the Associate Diploma in Medical Technology awarded by the Riverina CAE or the Associate Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science awarded by the Charles Sturt University, a Degree/Certificate in Nursing and/or an Associate Diploma in Electronics from TAFE, or equivalent Degree in Life Sciences/Medical Science, or tertiary qualification in Information Technology (Networking) and either an Advanced Diploma in Electronic Engineering or Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Biomedical/Electronics, allowing admission to IEAust at the Engineering Associate level or qualifications deemed to be equivalent.
Current NSW drivers licence and access to motor vehicle.
Experience in fault finding and repairs to component level
Have comprehensive digital data networks experience and training.
Excellent technical/digital network experience is priority, hospital experience preferred.
Willingness to work in all hospital areas and participate in 24/7 ‘on call’ roster, after training.
