Project Engineer (Queensland Based)

Melbourne based Project Engineers; we are on the lookout for engineers with Main Roads experience who might be looking to make the move to Queensland. There are some $100 million plus projects on the go up here and many more to come. Perhaps for a few reasons its time to make that move.

From our particular point of view, there is a $200 million project that’s about to start and we need the people to help make it happen. The company in question is one that is reviewed online in several of the main forums, and the feedback is generally very positive. The positive reviews of their Queensland operations highlight the following:

Positive working environment with an emphasis on the team
Plenty of references to a genuine commitment to safety
Better than average pay conditions

On top of that, there is a history of working on keynote projects in Queensland’s ever developing roads infrastructure. And it doesn’t look like changing any time soon, because we are told there continues to be a steady pipeline of work into the future. Right now, the Civil Construction industry is one that our governments are keen to support.

The big items we are looking for are:

A background on major roads projects
A Degree in Civil Engineering
It would be ideal if you have the Queensland TMR background before you made your way down south. But we are keen to talk to engineers who have had experience on roads projects of $50 million plus.

The engineering tasks are ones that you will already be familiar with. If you have worked with a first or second tier contractor in the past, its ground you would have covered before. So, for now, we won’t go on about the usual list of week to week activity. We are more looking for the person who is keen and open minded about a changed in lifestyle and location.

The role itself will be on a project in Central Queensland, and as such ideally you will be happy to be based in or around the Mackay region. FIFO from Brisbane may be an option for a candidate who can provide us with a compelling case.
