About the Role:

Our Suicide Prevention team is expanding our suicide prevention consultancy service and is seeking a dynamic Senior Project Officer with excellent relationship management and organisational skills. Your key role will be to provide support to a broad range of suicide prevention professionals across Primary Health Networks who are participating in the 12 National Suicide Prevention Trials. Additionally, you will lead the Tasmania "Exploring the role of pharmacists in suicide prevention" project.

This is a critical role as you will be responsible for supporting suicide prevention work across Australia. You will provide timely support and guidance on implementing a systems approach to suicide prevention, primarily through engaging and interactive online meetings and workshops. Developing strong relationships with health professionals, regional organisations and suicide prevention sector partners is crucial. This position will work closely with the Suicide Prevention Project Lead regarding the National Suicide Prevention Trials, and with the broader suicide prevention team on future suicide prevention projects.

Key Duties:

Collaborate with the Senior Project Lead to manage the ongoing support to the 12 National Suicide Prevention Trials, funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health.
Organise and lead regular meetings with National Suicide Prevention Trial site staff and the Department of Health.
Contribute to the design and delivery of workshops to ensure high engagement across the 12 National Suicide Prevention Trials.
Establish excellent relationships with external partners, ensuring a customer focused and high-quality service delivery approach.
Build rapport and strong relationships with participants.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and sector partners to develop culturally safe, relevant and inclusive resources for diverse populations across Australia.
Lead the content development of workplans and progress reports for the Commonwealth Department of Health and other funding bodies. Ensure strong working relationship with Departmental stakeholders is maintained and communication is clear and responsive.
Collaborate with the Suicide Prevention team regards the scoping, development, planning and delivery of workshops for trials and the broader suicide prevention sector

About You:

The successful candidate will have the following:

Essential Criteria

1. Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. social science, psychology, public health or mental health) or equivalent.

2. 3-5 years’ experience in mental health or health sector

3. Proven ability to create and maintain productive relationships with a variety of internal/external stakeholders through excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills and a high level of attention to detail

4. Project co-ordination experience and skills; ability to meet deadlines, demonstrate effective time management and adapt as necessary to the demands of multiple projects

5. Self-starter with a proven ability to work independently and contribute effectively as a team member

6. Experience in the high-quality delivery and facilitation of training programs or workshops (online and face-to-face) to a diverse cross-section of clients

7. High level of computer literacy and competence in using TEAMS and ZOOM technology, alongside the latest interactive online tools

8. A knowledge of EEO principles and WH&S responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant WH&S training

9. Willingness to travel regionally, rurally and interstate, as required

Desirable

1. Suicide prevention knowledge and sector experience

2. Experience in implementation science and/or knowledge translation

3. Experience building engaged online communities 4. Experience in the Not for Profit sector
