Reporting into the National Transport Manager, the National Transport Controller is an opportunity to support the domestic transport network for all Super Retail Group Brands and Distribution Centres with a control tower methodology.

You will work within the Transport & International Operations team to ensure all store replenishment transport functions across the Sea, Road and Rail freight channels are managed effectively, identifying and responding to risks of disruption to service delivery commitments.

This role will work closely with the Distribution Centres and Transport Partners, as well as supporting a broad group of internal stakeholders.

Other key responsibilities:

First and foremost, supports a Safety driven culture ensuring all business processes and workflows execute with best practice for the maintenance of Workplace Health and Safety practices within transport functions
Monitor, manage and upwardly communicate transport productivity, risks and issues
Drive the creation of process maps and work instructions for core processes within the Transport function
Build and develop key value drivers for Transport team and include in status of activity reporting framework
Deliver key insights from transport activities to drive continuous improvement and financial/budget improvement and compliance
Maintain and build the Logistics brand within SRG to become a trusted partner
Acts as a single point of contact for operational matters for Transport provider and DC operations
Lead and collaborate with key stakeholders to support the Supply Chain Operations Network Strategy

You will bring:

Demonstrable experience in the creation of, and operational delivery of a Control Tower Methodology
Demonstrated experience and knowledge in transport and logistics, preferably with a background in retail or FMCG industry
Firm understanding of the traffic controller methodology and best practice work process for end to end supply chain service delivery
Strong data literacy and ability to translate operational metrics into insights and/or solutions
Understanding of supply chain, logistics or warehouse management processes and systems
A passion to work with a fast growing omni-channel retailer and a readiness to ‘move with the market’
Excellent organisation and communication skills
