Hours/Period of Appointment

Fixed term, part time, shift work. Multiple vacancies available to commence as soon as possible until 30 July 2023. Notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Duties

Provide high quality physiotherapy service to patients, primarily within the Emergency Department (ED) and musculoskeletal physiotherapy outpatients at the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) and associated sites within the Tasmanian Health Service – North. Work according to the principal that the physiotherapy service is responsive to the changing needs of the community and works within a multi-disciplinary framework to optimise care and minimise risk.

Assist in the operational leadership within the Musculoskeletal stream via involvement in portfolios in the areas of clinical, managerial, research and teaching, and performance management. The position requires involvement in the up skilling of more junior physiotherapy staff and physiotherapy students within the Musculoskeletal stream.

Participate in education and training programs and work-based competency assessment for advanced musculoskeletal physiotherapy services primarily within the Emergency Department (ED) at the Launceston General Hospital and associated site.

Utilise change management skills while promoting a positive working culture to develop exceptional working relationships with relevant medical, nursing and Allied Health to guide a service that is patient centred, high quality, sustainable and agile to future direction.

Essential Requirements

Registered with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:a) Crimes of Violence
b) Sex Related Offences
c) Serious Drug Offences
d) Crimes involving dishonesty

3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.Desirable Requirements

Minimum five years’ experience as a physiotherapist.
Australian Physiotherapy Association Physiotherapist title holder (either academic or experiential pathway).
Post-graduate qualification in relevant field, or working towards.
Diverse and recent experience in the public health care setting
Current Driver’s Licence
