Development Manager Solar & Battery Storage (New Projects and Backend Commercial)

Leap29 have a fantastic opportunity which is available for a Development Manage to bring on new Utility Scale Solar and Battery Storage projects across Victoria and New South Wales. The position can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney with an anticipated start date of early September.

Major Responsibilities:
Advance development pipeline by actively seeking out new opportunities for large scale projects.
Handle backend commercial aspects
Work closely with internal project finance teams in order to create investment modelling and project budgets.
Perform due diligence and investigate on background info and specs for the project, technical assessment, legal and feasibility studies, environmental suitability.
Develop project proposals and create necessary documentation and presentations for a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Direct and manage consultants and support employees on their contributions to the Project Development process.
Build and maintain necessary relationships both inside and outside with relevant industry contacts in order to maintain and enhance the project development function and effectiveness.
Build and maintain relationships with Government bodies across council, state and federal level.

Qualifications and Experience:
Extensive experience in securing new Renewables development projects in the Australia market
Engineering tertiary qualification and relevant work experience in the renewable energy industry.
Experience in successfully building project pipelines and following development opportunities through to commercial outcomes.
Thorough understanding of the grid connection process.
Thorough understanding of the GPPA and CPPA structure and how to monetise a project.
Demonstrated budget planning and management ability.
The ability to communicate clearly, build relationships and influence others.
Strong analysis and decision making ability demonstrated within pressured and complex environments.
A sound understanding of other relevant skills including project accounting and tax, modelling, contract analysis etc.
Willingness to travel frequently in order to deliver role requirements.
