The Opportunity

BDA is the one of the largest defence companies in Australia, and is now recruiting highly skilled and motivated individuals to support Technical Maintenance (Mechanical) Instruction at RAAF Base Williamtown.

We are actively recruiting Aviation Maintenance Mechanical Instructors, with experience in the following fields to complement our team:

B737NG Airframe Systems
CFM56 Power Plants and APU Systems
E7 Wedgetail – Unique Airframe Systems
Air Force Maintenance Processes and Procedures
Curriculum and Courseware Development

We are seeking self-motivated professionals with technical instructional skills and a desire for a challenging and rewarding career with BDA. This position fulfils vital instructional activities in support of AEW&C Maintenance Training and development within the whole-of-life system support of the E-7A Wedgetail Aircraft.

While this role is at RAAF Base Williamtown, it affords exciting opportunities to support AEW&C deployments within Australia and Internationally as required.

Responsibilities

Delivery of essential courseware to Air Force Maintenance, Pilot and Mission Crew students on contracted courses in order to meet stipulated training levels
Maintaining, and on-going development of, aircraft systems courseware to meet the future needs of the customer.
Training management and evaluation to meet the continual process improvement philosophy within the BDA training process.
Support to both testing and development of new innovative processes and technology, working collaboratively with our Business Teams.

Experience/Qualifications

Essential

Certificate IV in Aeroskills Mechanical (MEA40718) or equivalent qualification.
Experience on the E7 Wedgetail or B737NG with a B1 MAML or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years’ Mechanical Aircraft Maintenance (B1.1) experience.
Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements. Applicants will need to be able to meet security-clearance requirements.

Desirable

Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE 40116) or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience as an instructor/mentor/supervisor is desired, but is not essential. BDA will support the right individual to achieve this qualification.
