Stationhand and contracting position on family owned cattle station

Our client runs a family owned property breeding Brangus cross cattle, a small stud and an off farm contracting business repairing and installing water infrastructure South-West of Katherine, NT.
We are searching for one suitable person for this exciting opportunity to join a small and professional team in a diverse role as a station hand. The position will have you being involved in a mixture of cattle work, mechanical repairs and maintenance, building, fencing, and installing/repairing water infrastructure.

Some experience is preferred but not a necessity, you must be very willing to learn and perform a range of tasks yet be able to work unsupervised on occasion. Applicants must be hard working with a positive attitude, be punctual, have excellent communication skills with a willingness to follow instructions.

The ideal candidate will possess the following –

A driver’s licence.
Motorbike riding experience.
HC or higher truck licence would be an advantage (or willing to get one).
Some experience with livestock ideal.
A genuine enthusiasm for the northern beef industry.
Welding, mechanical and building skills will be highly regarded.

This job would be ideal for someone looking for a long-term position who is looking to learn all aspects of running a station. There is room for career progression for the right person willing to commit.

The Station is located only 100km from Katherine and within 25 km from other stations. There are lots of good fishing spots close by on the Flora and Victoria Rivers.

The successful candidate will be offered above award wages, comfortable en-suite accommodation with Wi-Fi and all meals provided. Horses are not used on this property, non-smoker preferred, and NO dogs allowed.
