About us

The Stakeholder Engagement, Intergovernmental Strategy and Inclusion Unit within the Service Delivery Reform, Coordination and Workplace Safety Group is a newly amalgamated unit.

This unit plays a critical role in building the Department of Justice and Community Safety's capacity to engage with range of stakeholders, including the Victorian Aboriginal community, to drive a strong inclusion agenda. The Unit also works to ensure that inclusion and intersectionality are at the heart of the justice reform agenda.

About the role

As the Stakeholder Engagement Adviser, you will play a key role in:

* developing a stakeholder engagement strategy focusing on both Aboriginal and mainstream stakeholders
* building the capacity of the sector to co-deliver the reform agenda
* driving consistent and coherent engagement and inclusion approach across the department
* creating best practice guides and tools
* the creation of a coordination tool for whole of department engagement tracking and use internal consultancy on engagement activities.

This is an Aboriginal Identified Position. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

* knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal community (society and culture) and the issues impacting on it
* strong conceptual and analytical skills and the ability to provide accurate and strategic advice
* an understanding of project management and associated tools
* the ability to prepare well-written, timely, concise, accurate and audience-appropriate briefings and reports.
