Our Asset Management department invites applications for an experienced Senior Projects and Technical Officer to join our Infrastructure Assets Delivery team for a 3-year term.

In this exciting new role, you will successfully deliver complex infrastructure capital works projects with varying budgets to over $3 million. You will also play a key leadership role in offering technical guidance and mentoring to the Projects and Technical Officers within the team.

You will join a committed team who are responsible for the long-term future of the City and have the opportunity to collaborate on an exciting and diverse pipeline of city shaping projects.

Reporting to the Infrastructure Assets Delivery Coordinator, your key focus areas will be:

* Undertake the management of complicated and complex infrastructure capital works projects from concept to completion in accordance with Council's project management framework and capital works processes including managing budgets, variations, schedules, cost plans and forecasts for each project
* Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the Projects and Technical Officers and other Infrastructure Assets Delivery team members, to assist with high performance and achievement of organisational objectives and targets
* Apply continuous improvements by implementing reviewed technical advances and industry trends while identifying, developing, and maintaining procedures and risk assessments, and assisting in developing management systems related to asset and project management
* Apply engineering guidelines and best practice to assets planned, acquired, and constructed by both Council and developers, to ensure long-term asset maintenance is minimised and provide technical solutions to other Council staff
* Prepare tender documentation, engage and manage consultants and contractors

Your positive attitude and strong interpersonal and communication skills will assist you to develop and build strong working relationships across diverse departments in Council to deliver high quality solutions and results for our community.

Our Infrastructure Asset Delivery team are specifically looking for a candidate with the following criteria:

* Tertiary qualifications, or extensive equivalent experience and qualifications, in a related field such as Civil or Structural Engineering, Project Management, or Civil Construction
* Demonstrated high levels of interpersonal skills, including team supervisory skills such as motivating, coaching and mentoring a diverse range of staff
* Demonstrated achievement in managing multiple projects, to deliver quality results in a timely and financially sound manner
* Highly developed oral and written communication skills and demonstrated experience liaising with relevant stakeholders
* Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements
* Sound knowledge of project management and asset management principles and practices, including asset lifecycle costs and capitalisation
