MEGT RMS in conjunction with our Host Employer, are looking for a mechanically minded superstar! Our Host Employer has been operating for over 80 years in the waste, recycling, and industrial services throughout Australia. The Host Employer has a fleet more than 250 heavy vehicles they use in everyday operations.

As a 1st Year Engineering Fitting & Machining Apprentice, you will be working alongside and learning from highly experienced tradesmen. This position would suit a candidate that has a keen interest in trucks or large machinery, as you will be working on these daily.

Your duties will include and not be limited to;

Operation of trade related machinery (Lathe, Milling machines etc)
Welding and measuring of equipment
Reading drawing plans for work scheduled, assess suitable materials
Assisting qualified tradesmen within the workshop as well as onsite
Using hand and power tools
Attending TAFE and working towards Certificate 3 in Engineering Mechanical
Workshop housekeeping
Use and maintain workplace tools and equipment
Use of computer diagnostic equipment
Ensure workplace is kept clean and tidy
Use and maintain workplace tools and equipment

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To be considered for this opportunity ideally you will have:

Drivers Licence (manual) and own transport
Completed Year 12 High School Education
Ability to demonstrate working in a team environment
Superior Safety Awareness
Work experience or completed relevant studies in automotive or engineering
Basic understanding of mechanics and demonstrate an interest in this field
Long term career goals to grow with the company

HOW TO APPLY

The first stage of the selection process will involve a phone interview and only successful applicants will be contacted.
