Gosnells Primary School (PS) are seeking to appoint a hardworking and motivated Specialist Learning Primary Teacher to join our friendly and supportive team.

This is a specialist teaching position in our Specialist Learning Program for Children with ASD. You will be working with children with ASD in a mainstream classroom environment. Experience in this setting is highly regarded. The successful applicant will work within a close knit team of educators to achieve individual curriculum and student self-regulation goals. This is a unique opportunity to work in a specialist program for children with ASD with the support of a supportive and knowledgeable program co-ordinator.

We are an Independent Public School catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. We have an ethos of working together, caring for others, developing positive community involvement, taking pride in our achievements and maximising the educational opportunities for all children.

Our students are provided with opportunities across all learning areas, including specialist instruction in the areas of Physical Education, Science, Performing Arts, Indonesian, and Digital Technologies. Talented students have additional opportunities to participate in the Primary Extension and Challenge and School of Instrumental Music programs in Years 5 & 6. We foster a school culture based on the understanding that positive behaviours need to be taught and supported. Our clear behaviour expectations 'Be Safe', 'Be Responsible', 'Be Respectful' and 'Be Better' provide a positive learning environment that assists students to achieve improved academic and behaviour outcomes as a result of increased engagement with learning.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

Professional knowledge;
Professional practice; and
Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING

Employees will be required to:

complete the Department's induction program within three months of commencement; and
complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
