About the Centre/Service

Jacaranda Preschool is a community kindergarten in Lalor who provides safe and inclusive education to approx. 170 local families. We have 3 rooms over 2 sites and run both 3 & 4 year old programs. Both of our centres have achieved an Exceeding Rating in 2017 and 2018 respectively. Jacaranda Preschool is committed to child safety. We provide a play based program where play and learning are encouraged and fostered. Jacaranda Preschool (Kingsway Drive) has proudly been operating a Bush Kinder program since piloting the program in the City of Whittlesea in 2012. 3 of our 4 year old groups now participate in a bush kinder program run at local sites. This position is a Maternity Leave role for a 4yo group for Term 4, 2020 and Terms 1 & 2, 2021.

Description

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and motivated Early Childhood Teacher to team teach our Blue Group with an experienced team for maternity leave cover from 5 October 2020 until 25 June 2021. Session times are Thursday & Friday 8.15am – 2pm The successful applicant will – • be passionate about Early Childhood education • have a strong understanding of child development, the EYLF/VEYLF and child safe practice • show the ability to plan creative individual and group curricula • have excellent organisational and communication skills with children, families, staff, Committee of Management and members of the community • demonstrate a collaborative approach to curriculum development with other staff• conduct themselves professionally at all times in accordance relevant Law and Acts • be willing to undertake the responsibilities for day-to-day operations of the Kindergarten as required by the Approved Provider.

Qualifications

The successful applicant will hold – • a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent as recognised by ACECQA) • VIT Registration • current First Aid qualifications (including CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma management) • Child safe training (DEECD online module as a minimum)
