Bligh Tanner has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and competent Civil Engineering Draftsperson with 2 years’ experience to work with one of Australia’s most innovative engineering practices.

The role

We are looking for a candidate who is a self-starter, with a keen interest in innovative Engineering. You will be mentored by highly experienced Principal and Senior Designers and will benefit from access to a broad range of project opportunities. This particular role will initially focus on developing Engineering designs using AutoCAD and visualisation software.

This challenging role will vary from time to time based on the needs of our clients and the strategic direction of the business.

Key Expectations

You will assist with general civil engineering design for land development projects.
You will be competent in and continue developing a broad set of design and drafting skills using AutoCAD and 12D and apply these skills across a broad range of projects to the office design and drafting standards.
You will meet with the Senior Civil Designer on a regular basis to review activity, issues and performance.
You will learn across all phases of the design process (planning, design and construction)
You will be a team player and work collaboratively in small team of drafters to foster teamwork and knowledge sharing, including assisting with the types of work described herein
You will undertake whatever tasks are necessary to deliver projects and support the overall functioning of the Bligh Tanner business, including clerical and administrative tasks as needed
You will have an interest in visualisation presentations using multiple software’s

Strong computer skills in AutoCAD

Selection Criteria

Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
2 years' Experience
Construction background
An understanding or basic skills in 12D, ACAD and Sketch up
Strong MS Office skills
A passion for design, innovation and sustainability, and desire to positively influence change
