About the Role

A newly created role working in the finance team, this position will report to the Financial Controller in Brisbane with a dotted line to the Treasury Manager overseas. An exciting opportunity to establish the Treasury function in Australia including the treasury operations and controls, managing banking relationships as well as hedging and forex accounting.

Key Accountabilities

Forecast medium and long-term funding and hedging requirements;
Ensure funding/banking facilities are reviewed and maintained;
Treasury accounting for month end reporting;
Ensure best practice treasury systems, processes and controls are in place;
Preparation of hedge accounting in accordance with IFRS9;
Implement hedging and FX strategies; and
Monthly and Quarterly treasury reporting (analysis around FX gains / losses).

About You

As a newly created role and stand alone treasury position within the company, this will require you to have a strong understanding of treasury accounting standards and demonstrated practical experience in managing hedging and forex transactions. You will use your initiative to establish controls and processes for the Australian operations. Experience gained in a "big four" accounting practice is preferred and commercial experience in a large complex business will set you up for success in the role. Relevant tertiary qualifications as well as CA / CPA qualifications are necessary and exposure to a large ERP with sound knowledge across Microsoft Office products is required.
