CentacareCQ has an opportunity for a full-time General Manager Health & Wellbeing Services to join their dedicated Leadership Team, based in Mackay.

As the Senior Leader for the Northern Region, the General Manager Health & Wellbeing Services is accountable for all services delivered across that region. This accountability includes planning, monitoring and developing services aimed to meet local needs and fulfil organisational objectives.

The General Manager is an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team and will participate in strategic planning and support organisational development. As the Senior Leader for the region, the General Manager will participate in setting the objectives for the region’s services and development of the annual budget.

The senior leader is the primary contact for the organisation within the region. They will support the Director by representing the organisation within the community and develop key relationships with local officials and dignitaries.

The General Manager Health and Wellbeing Services (Northern Region) is accountable for ensuring all services are delivered safely and in accordance with the Quality Management System requirements. This includes ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and funding contracts, including outputs.

Duties of the role include:

Mission, Vision and Values

Support a positive culture within the organisation in line with CentacareCQ mission, vision and values;
Participate actively in formation activities.

Service Delivery

Provide support, guidance and direction to leaders and service delivery staff across the region.
Ensure services are delivered in accordance with the Quality Management System, relevant standards and contract requirements.
Establish and communicate clear targets and objectives to all service delivery teams within the region ensuring they meet any organisational and contractual requirements.
Regularly report on performance and notify the leadership team and the Director of all instances where targets and objectives are not being met (including financial).

Quality & Compliance

Fully and proactively participate in all audit and compliance activity including internal and accreditation audits.
Report all incidents and feedback through the Riskman system as required by the Quality Management System and ensure Riskman items are responded to in a reasonable timeframe.
Actively participate in the development and review of Quality Management System documents.
Ensure a culture of continuous improvement is evident throughout all services provided within the region.

Fleet & Facilities

Ensure the safe and efficient operation of site-based resources.
Work with the Risk & Innovation Manager to develop and enhance site-based resources including fleet and facilities.
Ensure expenditure on fleet and facilities aligns to approved annual budgets.

Business Development

Develop an annual budget each year setting objectives and targets for ongoing business development and growth. Regularly report on variances to approved budget.
Identify opportunities for business development and growth within the region, developing plans and strategies to implement solutions to these opportunities.
Support service leaders and delivery staff to undertake a business development approach to service delivery.

Networking and Service Promotion

Participate in community activities and networking opportunities to build awareness of CentacareCQ
Represent CentacareCQ at forums, conferences and other networking opportunities.
Ensure that effective relationships are maintained with key individuals and organisations across the region.
Ensure CentacareCQ is recognised as a reputable and credible provider of services through a practice of good service delivery, a safe working environment and being responsive to consumer feedback.

Please note: The successful candidate will be required to participate in an Australian Federal Police check and a Working with children check, prior to confirmation of appointment to the position.

The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate entitlement to work in Australia, and to disclose any pre-existing injury or disease which may be adversely affected by undertaking the inherent requirements of the position.
