Joining the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team in Mount Gambier, you will be responsible for delivering specialist child and adolescent mental health care to consumers with complex needs. The provision of assessment, education, counselling and group work are considered essential components of care which are directed towards the attainment of optimum consumer health and recovery. This will involve consultation and liaison with other professional disciplines and non-Government organisations. Utilising your expert clinical knowledge, skills and experience in the application of direction, support, orientation and education to other CAMHS staff, you will lead and participate in action research projects, quality improvement activities and policy development within the practice setting. As part of a small cohesive team with good links with other agencies in the Mount Gambier community, you will have the ability to develop a therapeutic specialisation and have access to ongoing professional development opportunities.

For appointment at the AHP2 level, you will hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Occupational Therapy, and have membership of the relevant professional association. For appointment at the RN2 level, you will be registered as a Mental Health Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current practicing certificate, along with a qualification in mental health practice. With extensive clinical experience in the mental health issues of children and adolescents, you will have proven ability to carry out assessments and interventions of a complex nature with emotionally disturbed children, adolescents and their families using a range of theoretical models.
