An exciting opportunity exists to join the Perioperative Services Team/Department at Shoalhaven Hospital.

What you'll be doing

Sterilisation Technicians are part of the Perioperative Team and work in accordance with ISLHD and Sterilisation Service Department (SSD) policies and procedures, the AS/NZ 4187 and NSW Ministry of Health Infection Control Policies.
Sterilisation Services clean, decontaminate, package and sterilise re-usable medical devices (RMD) and semi- critical equipment.

Shoalhaven Hospital is a busy rural hospital which employs over 1,000 staff and is the main acute care hospital for the Shoalhaven region, providing emergency care, medical, surgical and orthopaedic services. Selection Criteria:

1. Sterilisation Technology Certificate III is required for Sterilisation Technician Grade 2. Sterilisation Technician Grade 1 candidates must be willing to obtain the Sterilisation Technology Certificate III within 2 years of employment.
2. Demonstrated understanding of the Infection Control principals.
3. Demonstrated commitment to quality assurance and attention to detail.
4. Ability high levels of communication and demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently and take direction to meet strict deadlines.
6. Demonstrated basic computer literacy skills.
