Who You'll Work With
You will be based in Melbourne or Sydney. You will be responsible for managing a full range of professional development, staffing and related administrative activities for McKinsey in Australia. You will work in close collaboration with the broader Australia Office Professional Development ( AUO PD) & Staffing community.
You will be working with the partner group, and other leaders to create a vibrant and exciting community. This community should allow people – individually and collectively – to behave like owners, feel cared for and are closely connected, and have access to a full range of opportunities.
In addition to leading staffing, you will co-lead and coordinate people activities and people initiatives related to these locations (e.g., community building, local trainings etc.). As part of a larger AUO PD and Staffing team, you will also take on 1-2 regional people-related responsibilities (e.g., supporting evaluations, leading cohort initiatives, local and regional learning support etc.).
What You'll Do
You will effectively on-board new consultants to ensure they understand the basics for how McKinsey works and feel connected to the office.
In this role, you will keep a finger on the pulse of the consultants and effectively engage the partners when issues arise. You will help design and lead learning and connectivity program (e.g., connectivity events, specific digital upskilling sessions), and to deliver priority Digital AUO PD initiatives (e.g., Team Experience).
You will act as the professional development counsellor for business analyst colleagues, by developing a professional relationship with our consultants that includes an in-depth understanding of the individual’s professional development aspirations, experience, strengths, development needs, and relevant personal circumstances - both on an on-going basis and around specific engagements. You will also monitor consultant development and provide coaching and guidance on appropriate assignments, skill development, career progression and other topics as they arise, with special attention to those in their inflection points.
You will lead the staffing function, together with the AUO PD and Staffing team to ensure consultants are appropriately staffed to teams and provide guidance on staffing. You will ensure consultants receive the required development opportunities while balancing and reflecting client service needs. You will provide these consultants with formal and informal feedback related to their staffing and evaluations. You will also be part of the semi-annual review process, working closely with our People committee leaders to drive and manage the review process for consultants in your region.
You may also be engaged in other practice / People related initiatives as situation arises. You can also be considered on a specialist level depending on your experience.
