Senior International Tax Advisor

Our client is a top 50 ASX listed organisation with domestic and global operations. Due to some promotions within the team, we currently have a position available for a senior corporate tax professional with cross-border tax experience. The position will be based in Sydney CBD in newly refurbished offices.

The key responsibilities of the role will be:

Provide corporate tax advice to the business to support commercial decision making in relation to major business initiatives, mergers & acquisitions, projects and other transactions, with a focus on the business' international operations;
Providing tax planning and advice to internal customers & stakeholders;
Reviewing Australian and foreign tax compliance;
Preparation of Controlled Foreign Company ("CFC") calculations in respect of foreign operations;
Managing tax audits and disputes
Advising on transfer pricing for corporate entities and review of transfer pricing documentation;
Reviewing and making recommendations regarding tax policies and strategies, and liaise with relevant Australian and foreign tax authorities and specialist legal and tax advisers as required;
Liaison with the ATO and other external revenue authorities;
Ad-hoc duties as required.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills, qualifications and attributes:

A Degree in Commerce or Law;
CA/CPA qualified and preferably a Masters in tax or will be a qualified lawyer;
Circa 5-8 years Demonstrated experience in a Big 4 accounting firm, law firm or large corporate environment;
Some exposure to foreign tax systems (especially in Asia) and indirect taxes (GST/VAT) is desirable but not a prerequisite;
Experience with CCH desirable;
Experience engaging & influencing senior stakeholders - internal and external;
Strong communication and written skills.
