Wagga Wagga Base Hospital (WWBH) is one of the busiest rural hospitals in NSW with 325 beds. We support over 40,000 emergency presentations, 1,100 births and approximately 11,000 operations each year.

Wagga Wagga Health Service provides services including critical care, medical, surgical, paediatric, obstetric, and rehabilitation care. We also provide mental health and community health services. We work with a team of specialists which include cardiovascular, gastroenterology, renal medicine, obstetrics, orthopaedics, psychiatry and paediatrics. There is also the provision of a full range of allied health and support services such as dental, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, sexual health and violence prevention and response services.

A specialised Mental Health Recovery Unit provides a large modern and comfortable facility and our community health services are is co-located on the one Wagga Wagga campus.

About the Opportunity

The Senior Occupational Therapist Level 3 is responsible for the delivery of timely, and efficient evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to patients of Wagga Wagga Base Hospital (Murrumbidgee Local Health District) admitted in inpatient rehabilitation unit or stroke unit.

This position is supported by the O.T manager, O.T staff and MDT team. The position involves a range of specialised clinical and administrative functions necessary for the provision of Occupational Therapy services to a wide range of subacute rehabilitation inpatients.

The senior clinician is required to have advanced clinical reasoning and skills with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team. The senior occupational therapist will be a clinical resource to the O.T team and will provide clinical supervision and support to Level 1/2 occupational therapists and clinical education to undergraduate occupational therapy students and work experience students.

NB: This role will mainly provide service to stroke unit and inpatient rehabilitation unit
