My client has an immediate need to on-board a technical specialist across network services on a 6 month initial contract. This will Work form home and also be based of my clients new Macquarie Park offices.

Cisco product suite (including ACI), F5 and Checkpoint products knowledge will be needed for this role. Knowledge of Bluecoat and Infoblox products is highly desirable. You will also come with knowledge of leading practices and emerging trends in network services (e.g. Software Defined Infrastructure), and experience with PSTN services, ISDN carriage services, dark fibre, IPVPN, and Enterprise Perimeter Security (EPS) technologies.

The primary purpose of the role is to ensure the performance of technical governance over infrastructure services being delivered by my clients network service (mobile, voice, data) suppliers. This includes technical validation of supplier detailed designs and proposed configurations. The role also has responsibility for the evaluation of technical changes, the technical validation of supplier provided quotes, proposals and invoices, and involvement in the assessment of supplier provided root causes and corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the development of solution designs on an as needed basis (note third party suppliers are responsible for solution design of in scope services) to support current and planned business and operational requirements.
Support the review and assessment of the technical aspects of IT changes in the operational environment and participate in the change evaluation process by validating correct assessments of impact assessments and by providing guidance, recommendations and approvals to ensure best practice in technical change assessment processes.
Evaluate supplier technical designs and proposals, provide guidance on proposed technical configurations and assist with technical assessment and technical evaluation in operational and recovery activities to ensure overall technical governance and value for money of delivered services.
Act as technical authority to review and assess the technical requirements within service requests and review supplier quotes and proposals, including cost estimates to ensure the technical validation of supplier provided quotes, proposals and invoices.
Review and assess the technical requirements within service requests and confirm scope of technical solutions and suppliers required, including the review and validation of supplier technical quotes, proposals and invoices to ensure all business and operational requirements are met.

Skills and experience required:

Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience. Relevant network and IT Service Management certification/s.
Knowledge of infrastructure solution architecture and design. Knowledge of architectural frameworks and principles desirable.
Extensive Technical experience analysing, assessing and supporting network services in large, complex federated organisations. Technical knowledge of the Cisco product suite (including ACI), F5 and Checkpoint products. Knowledge of Bluecoat and Infoblox products is highly desirable. Knowledge of leading practices and emerging trends in network services (e.g. Software Defined Infrastructure), and experience with PSTN services, ISDN carriage services, dark fibre, IPVPN, and Enterprise Perimeter Security (EPS) technologies.
Technical experience analysing, assessing and supporting network services in large, complex federated organisations.
Knowledge of networks assurance across operations and maintenance, network planning and inventory management in federated and multi-sourced environments.
Experience in performing technical governance in a complex, multi-sourced network environment, including the technical validation of supplier detailed designs, and proposed configurations
