Market Research Officer

$85,279 - 96,759 (Plus Superannuation)

The position of Market Research Officer forms a part of the Small Business Victoria Branch within the Jobs, Innovation and Business Engagement Group. As the Market Research Officer in Small Business Victoria, you'll be part of an energetic Digital Services team focused on developing innovative digital tools to help Victoria's small businesses grow, invest, employ and export.

Digital Services is an information hub and broadcast unit providing business and regulatory information for Victorian businesses to start, grow, employ and internationalise through Business Victoria digital channel engagement, newsletter and social media channels.

Reporting to the Manager, Digital Services, this position will support newly initiated Business Victoria projects. To be successful in this role, you will have strong writing, communications, marketing and research skills. You will work closely with stakeholders and proactively contribute to and conduct research, including gathering, preparing and analysing quantitative and qualitative data, generating ideas and presenting results. Crucial to this role is your ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels and communicate confidently, providing specialist advice that meets business requirements.

The key accountabilities of the role include:

Engage with stakeholder groups to elicit requirements, communicate and provide specialist advice on project direction, ensuring their business requirements are met.
Have proven capability in B2B or B2C experience to manage the design and distribution of surveys using Survey Monkey or a similar tool.
Seek and gather competitive information to inform the survey design and process.
Provide updates on progress of assigned tasks, identify and communicate risks and issues as they arise and work collaboratively to mitigate or resolve them respectively.
Generate meaningful reports for diverse stakeholders and senior decision makers. Analyse and interpret survey data to identify patterns and trends.
Provide best practice advice to stakeholders and senior management on how to best use research findings.
Support the Digital Services team as required to deliver the Digital Engagement Plan.
