The permanent position of; City Economy and Marketing Manager offers a unique opportunity to fundamentally shape and define the City’s destiny in the context of game changing opportunities. This is enabled through the delivery of Economic Development and Marketing Strategies to promote the City and attract city investment, skilled and talented new residents and to influence industry sectors (including tourism) to create new jobs for the benefit of the local community.
The City Economy and Marketing Manager will lead the City Economy and Marketing Department made up of professional staff to actively maximise the economic benefits of the Western Sydney Airport, associated infrastructure investment and the Western Sydney City Deal.

Key Accountabilities:

Drive and facilitate the opportunities associated with the economic triangle including the Aerotropolis, Penrith and St Mary’s City Centres
Drive the delivery of outcomes identified in Economic Development Strategy
Apply political and commercial expertise to achieve specific economic development goals
Advocate on economic development matters that support the City’s growth and revitalisation
Lead, coordinate and facilitate implementation of economic projects that deliver against strategic outcomes
Work collaboratively with internal partners to deliver the Economic Development Strategy
Provide strategic thinking and action to respond to changes in the business and/or political environment

Key Requirements:

A tertiary qualification in Urban Planning, Economics, Marketing or related area
Vision and ability to think and plan for the future
Experience in local government, the public sector or other political sensitive environment
Demonstrated success in leading the delivery of economic development and/or City Marketing Projects
Exceptional interpersonal skills in leadership, coordination, negotiation and teamwork
Demonstrated experience in complex community engagement and stakeholder management
Demonstrated experience in managing complex community and cross-organisational projects
Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver strategic outcomes
Current Class C Driver Licence
Knowledge of relevant legislation
