A role exists within our practice for a part time (3 days) to commence immediately and with a scope to fill a maternity leave role within 2 months for an associated practice for a further part time (2 days) to increase to full time.

The role has one core function of finance (oversight of trust and practice accounting);

You will be primarily responsible for the financial aspects of one offices and be a part of the following:

Operations/Administration

Assisting in the administration/operations of both offices on a day to day level;
Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures in line with the Doconade Group's core beliefs and values;
Be prepared to be a backup to reception duties and provide administration support to the lawyers;

Finances

Attending to the financial needs of the firm including trust accounting (ActionStep) and overseeing billing and bookkeeping (XERO);
Processing of all Receivables and Billables;
Be prepared to contact Debtors;
Generating & Collating monthly reports and actioning and monitoring financial progress of lawyers and staff and reporting to the Directors on a monthly basis;
Reconcilation of both the practice and trust accounts of the Law Firm in accordance with prescribed regulations;
Process Payroll (wages, super, leave matters)
Oversight and filing of quarterly BAS statements with the ATO;
Handling of cash and cheques;
Banking of monies deposited;
Liase with financial institutions; and
Any other finance related matters

The right person will naturally translate and organically assist in the practice management of the firm, which would ultimately move from a financial role to a practice management role overseeing administration, finance and operations.
