About the role
We are partnering with Australia's leading mining company, to secure the services of a Fixed Plant Maintenance Technical Writer (Mining) to provide clear and concise technical documentation to support safe and efficient maintenance with an understanding and compliance with all company policies & procedures. As an ideal candidate, you have proven experience in a highly technical field, such as or engineering or mining, particularly with Maintenance Work Instruction Creation. Your ability to evaluate and analyse complex information is second to none, and you have a natural desire to help people understand things that are hard to understand. There is an expectation of being out in the field or trenches, not simply a desk bound job!

Responsibilities of this role?

Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements
Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation
Work with development and support leads to identify all documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage
Research, create, and maintain information templates that uphold organizational and legal standards, and allow for easy data migration
Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation

Skills & Qualifications?

Trade background preferred- maintenance background an advantage
Significant experience in a mining environment, preferably fixed plant maintenance qualification (trade desirable)
Extensive working knowledge of fixed plant maintenance
Well-developed verbal and written skills
Ability to write in explanatory text which can be clearly understood by various levels of experience.
Computer literacy with previous experience in Maintenance Systems (SAP preferred)

Demonstrated ability in the MS Office suite of programs
