About the role

We have an opportunity for a Finance Manager to be part of our Traffic & Highway Patrol team. The Finance Manager provides analytical, accounting and financial system support to the command/business unit and coordinates the finance function in order to meet business objectives, focusing on best practice, quality assurance, standardised reporting while ensuring compliance with legislation, policy and procedures and appropriate exercise of financial delegations.

The Traffic & Highway Patrol Command has onsite parking available.

This is a temporary role and employment is either as temporary employment under Rule 11 of the Government Sector Employment (NSW Police Force) Rules 2017, temporary assignment under Rule 15 of the Government Sector Employment (NSW Police Force) Rules 2017 or a secondment under section 95 of the Police Act 1990 up to 12 months.

Essential requirements

Obtain and maintain the requisite security clearance for this role.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, business, accounting or equivalent industry experience.
Membership with a professional accounting body (e.g. Institute of Chartered Accountants, Certified Practising Accountant, Institute of Public Accountants or equivalent).

Target Question 1:

The position provides financial management support to the senior management within the Traffic & Highway Patrol Command. Provide details of your experience in the financial management sector with reference to:

(1) Management Accounting activities including financial planning and budgeting (please reflect the $ value of the budget(s)).

(2) Finance Operations and systems including preparation of financial reports and operating system controls. Ensure to outline the systems used to support these activities.

Target Question 2:

Provide an example of how your stakeholder partnering skills have effectively communicated data to stakeholders with a limited financial background.
