The Role

Provide a high standard of medical care to patients, admitted or non-admitted, within the Health Services. Promote clinical standards and quality of care through effective and efficient patient management, which includes attendance at teaching and unit meetings, outreach clinics in remote communities and regional centres throughout Northern Territory (NT). Provide supervision, teaching and mentoring of Resident Medical Officers and Interns. Maintain ALS accreditation.

The Hospital

The two Hospitals are level three and two teaching hospitals, They have approximately 370 and >75 beds, respectively, and deliver an active and successful Physician Training Programme for both Basic and Advanced Trainees. You will gain exposure to a fascinating array of pathology in the midst of tropical Australia, with a strong emphasis on Aboriginal Health. The role has attracted many dedicated trainees over the years and has been a highly valued experience by senior trainees. All Advanced Trainees will participate in outreach clinics in remote communities. Dual training across two disciplines – often General Medicine and another specialty is actively encouraged and supported.

Essential Criteria

Current General AHPRA Registration
You are required to have passed both the written and clinical exam.
