The Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the largest tertiary health service in northern Australia; we are responsible for the delivery of healthcare services, education and research within a region covering over 149,500km with a population of approximately 250,000 people.

We cover the continuum of healthcare services from advanced, highly specialised, tertiary-level healthcare at the main hospital to secondary and primary-level hospital and community healthcare across 20 facilities. The main facility is located adjacent to one of Queenslands leading tertiary institutions, James Cook University.

About your opportunity

The purpose of this role is to contribute to patient care by providing clinical support tasks to increase patient nutrition, cognitive stimulation, mobility and functional independence, as delegated under the direct or indirect supervision of health professionals participating in the Eat Walk Engage (EWE) program at the Townsville University Hospital. The EWE program is a multi-professional approach to prevention of delirium and early restorative care in older patients.

Generous remuneration package value up to $34,349 p.a. comprising salary range of $29.06 to $30.36 p.h. (OO3), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation. We are seeking highly dynamic, outcomes driven candidates who can demonstrate the following:

* A patient focus and ability to work empathetically and respectfully with older patients.
* Ability to provide a defined range of assessments and treatments as prescribed and delegated by the multidisciplinary team.
* Highly desirable: A Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent and experience in the care of older people.
