Randstads client is a market leading Civil Engineering contractor specialising in the Water Infrastructure sector. Delivering projects on major Water infrastructure projects, Treatment Plant, Pump Stations and Pipeline contracts within South East Qld, Regional QLD, and interstate.

The successful candidate will work within an established Estimation team delivering end-to-end Estimation and engineering expertise to leading utility / Water providers / projects across QLD and Interstate

Our client continues to grow its portfolio of utility clients within within QLD and far north NSW. With this growth comes the excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Civil Estimator to join their team in Brisbane on a permanent basis.

As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate the following;

Proven experience estimation of Water Treatment Projects, Pump stations and pipelines
Mechanical / Electrical & Civil Earthworks / Pipeline estimation experience
Complex utilities and services projects (water & sewer, electricity and/or gas)
Working within an Estimating team and reporting to National company directors reviewing tender specifications and drawings to determine material and resource requirements;
Day to day you will help manage the tendering and contracting process for a variety of projects across the region. Attending tender meetings and site visits
Negotiating competitive quotations from suppliers and contractors
Advising project managers on budget, contractual requirements and resources
Consulting with clients, vendors, designers and other stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues;
Able to read and interpret Mechanical / Electrical and implement processes
Analysing completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs;
Interfacing with company stakeholders to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates;
Communicating project information to delivery team;
Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures within Mechanical / Electrical and civil aspects of estimation.
Developing innovative material inputs and construction / mechanical methods to reduce cost.
Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.
Preparing construction methodologies and project schedules for tender submissions.

What do you do bring?

This opportunity is ideally suited to as a Senior Civil Estimator with proven water/sewer projects experience, ideally with Civil, Mechanical and Electrical exposure.

Bachelor level degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or similar
Post graduate studies in Project Management and/or Business Management / Quantity Surveying
Prior exposure to the water industry working within the Queensland Urban Utilities program of works
Minimum 5 x Years recent experience
Strong experience pricing full component of QUU Projects,Water Treatment / Pump Station / Pipelines projects
Passion required to win projects and ultimately lead to extended company growth and success
Estimation of Projects ranging from $1m-$50m
