Aurukun is located a 1.5 hour flight from Cairns and provides a full range of community services including bank and postal agencies, arts centre, airport, aged and child care and community police. The Council is seeking to fill the following two positions based in Aurukun.

STORE SUPERVISOR

The person we are looking for will have:
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in stores operations;
• An open unrestricted driver’s license and forklift operators ticket;
• Experience in stock control, including ordering and stocktake;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to negotiate and manage conflict;
• Experience of living and working in a remote community is desirable.

RECORDS OFFICER

The person we are looking for will have:
• Experience in records management, compliance, managing databases and reporting for probity. Local government experience an advantage;
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office specifically Word and Excel;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve positive outcomes;
• Experience living and working in a remote community is desirable.
