EL1 & EL2 Tax Specialists - Large Government Body

Our client is a large government body at the forefront of Tax Policy and investigation. They currently have a number of tax roles available initially on 18 month contracts with extensions available up to 3 years. The roles will work across a number of technical advisory tax advisory and client services teams.

We are looking for:

We're looking for people to join an elite team of corporate and international tax specialists brought together to deal with multinational and domestic tax avoidance. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to test yourself against the best minds in your field, not just here but on a global stage. We have a particular interest in candidates who have senior level experience in Corporate tax advisory either within a listed corporate, a Big 4 Accounting firm or top-tier law firm. We also have roles available at EL1 level so can consider various levels of experience.

In this role you will:

Conduct broad legal analysis and research in Australian and International tax law to identify, monitor and address emerging tax risks and tax planning techniques

scrutinise complex structures and transactions, including those taxpayers with limited financial disclosure obligations, and prepare legal positions engage with offshore investment portfolios, examine foreign holding structures and seek information from other jurisdictions

Our ideal candidate:

Has a deep understanding of the taxation legislative and financial environments, particularly in any of the following areas: international and domestic tax structuring, mergers and acquisitions, public or private groups such as trusts and related party dealings, forensic accounting or goods and services tax (GST);
Has hands-on experience working with the structures and tax planning approaches used in multinational enterprises and large public groups;
Is outward-focused and takes a collaborative, client-centred approach to their work;
Delivers a very high standard of work
Can negotiate and influence strong stakeholders, and has the ability to use their professional judgement and knowledge to shape outcomes;
Is able to coach and develop other staff to make technical decisions;
Has a degree in tax, accounting, commerce, law, and/or analytics;
Has a minimum of 7+ years of experience working in a relevant area of tax, accounting or law.
