About the role

Permanent full time position
38 hours per week, , with hours to be worked between 9.00 am and 5.30 pm Monday to Friday.
$55,000-$60,000 per year + superannuation

About us :

We are a CPA Public Practice based in Wollongong firm providing a range of tasks for clients including Tax, Accounting, Cashflow/Forecasts, Business Advisory and Bookkeeping.

We are looking an experienced Accountant to assist in the management of key clients accounting and tax return needs as well as general team leadership.

Report to : Principle of the Firm

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Prepare of tax returns for Individuals, Trusts, Superannuation Funds, Companies and Partnerships,
Assist in summarising accounts and analysing financial statements in respect of forecasting cash flows and formulating budgetary planning
Assist in preparing financial compilation reports for presentation to board of directors, management, shareholders and governing and statutory
Perform bank reconciliation for various banks accounts, investigate documentation, making necessary reconciliation adjustments regarding purchase and sale of businesses, suspected fraud, insolvency, and taxation
Assist in examining and analysing business income and expenses in comparison with yield-to-date figures to provide necessary cost saving or minimisation strategy
Input financial data into MYOB, QUICKBOOK and XERO accounting systems
Assist in providing financial and taxation information regarding cost-performance and supporting implementation of benchmarking system among service providers and consulting clients with improvement initiative
Compile payment summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, allowances for individuals and organisations in compliance with Single Touch Payroll system
Liaise with financial institutions such as banks, superannuation funds, ICARE worker compensation and ATO on clients’ behalf for enquiry, account settlement or arranging scheduled payment plan
Maintain accounting system, record-keeping and giving advice on the use of accounting systems such as XERO, MYOB, QuickBooks, Reckon One.
Assist in calculating and comparing the business cash flows and potential risks when acquiring new assets
Back up and archive documentation properly based on the organisation’s filing system and maintain a good audit trail of work

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor of Commerce/ Accounting or higher qualification
Minimum of 2+ years of full-time tax experience in an Accounting Firm
CPA or currently studying towards
Strong computer skills
Experience in SMSF Tax and Accounting
Experience with Xero, MYOB, Reckon
