Duties

Manage a variety of trade development activities and initiatives that market Tasmania products and services, ensuring projects align with government and industry priorities and provide comprehensive project management where required.
Provide specialist advice and manage the co-ordination of overseas trade enquiries and referrals to ensure trade opportunities are maximised to support business and industry to grow.
Act as an interface between the private sector and Government by providing a point of contact to the private sector for government assistance with trade and international engagement activities.
Plan, coordinate and facilitate inbound and outbound trade activities and initiatives.
Undertake detailed market research, analysis and interpretation of information and assist in matching selected Tasmanian industry resources, products and services and capabilities with identified market opportunities.
Liaise across State Government, with Austrade, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and other organisations involved in facilitating trade development to promote the objectives of the business unit.
Develop and assist with the maintenance of information databases for the business unit, and generate reports as required.
Prepare responses to ministerial requests, correspondence and briefs. Contribute to strategies and submissions as required.
Other duties as required from time-to-time, including providing advice and assistance to other areas of government on Food and Agribusiness matters or Trade activities and initiatives, and participating in larger project teams.

Desirable Requirements

A current drivers licence
Experience in key Tasmanian Food and Agribusiness exporting sectors is an advantage.
