We require a full time chef with the right attitude and passion for working with food with at least 2 years of relevant experience and a minimum of a Diploma qualification or equivalent in substantial experience. Salary of $54,000 + super for this full time position.

As the Chef, you will undergo the following responsibilities and tasks.

Responsibilities:

Menu planning and estimating food and labour costs
Order food supplies
Examine the food and supplies to ensure quality
Prepare and cook food as per menu and recipes
Store correctly labelled food in temperature-controlled facilities
Estimate food requirements
Prepare food as per dietary requirements
Manage kitchen staff and delegate tasks related to meal prep, cooking and delivering food to diners in a timely fashion
Follow and enforce workplace health & safety regulations, Implement hygiene policies and examining equipment for cleanliness

Tasks and Duties:

Follow and enforce appropriate procedures in food handling, personal hygiene and infection control
Ensuring food quality and taste is of the highest standard
Report any workplace hazards or injuries to Manager
Assist in hiring and training new staff
Participation in training activities and staff meetings
Keep informed of trends and changes in the hospitality industry
Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment

Qualifications:

Minimum of a Diploma qualification or equivalent in substantial experience.

Experience Requirement:

At least 2 years of experience in highly relevant role required
Experience in modern Australian cuisine preferred

Essential Skills:

Good cooking and presentation skills
Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures and assist with all facets of kitchen operation
Able to work in a team
Good communication skills
Maintain good health and hygiene
Ability to train cooks and junior staff
Great time management and organisation skills
