Fenner Dunlop are experts in Conveyor System Engineering and Design, with a focus on Belting, Maintenance and Reliability.

Our engineering team can design everything from components to complete turnkey conveyor systems with fully integrated electrical control systems. Every product is designed with the aim of delivering an optimal life and the lowest cost of ownership.

And we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a background in Materials Handling (Belt Conveyors) to fill a key role with a major client.

This diverse role oversees all belting related supply to this client and includes a range of responsibilities from overseeing transactional sales to product and technical support. This position would be ideal for an engineer looking to move into a management role to develop a wide range of skills and knowledge, including quality assurance, continuous improvement, manufacturing management, tending and contract management to name a few.

What the role entails:

Applicants must be able to establish strong working relationships with clients and colleagues based on trust and professionalism. They must be self-driven, capable of managing workload based on priorities and motivated to achieve ever-improving levels of performance.
The role draws on a broad range of skills, combining problem-solving, data analysis, product expertise, engineering discipline, document control, process development and management, and quality assurance, to delivery leading outcomes for our customers.

What are we looking for?

Mechanical Engineer (BE Mech or equivalent), with 3-5 years’ experience.
Operational experience in a Mining or Manufacturing environment desirable.
Exceptional time management skills to complete work to agreed deadlines
Exceptional written and verbal communication.
Proven experience establishing collaborative relationships with customers and colleagues.
Advanced analytical skills – engineering calculations and/or manual calculations
Ability to work in a team and take ownership of allocated area of responsibility.
Design and Project Management experience desirable.
Uncompromising standards with respect to safety, quality, and professional behaviour.
Detailed knowledge of materials handling plant, especially belt conveyors, highly valued.
Problem Solving and Troubleshooting, in a structured and professional manner.
Capable of collecting relevant data and using this data for reporting and developing improvements.
Experience developing and improving systems of work and implementing continuous improvement.
