What you'll be doing

The Nursing Unit Manager role is responsible for the operational management and leadership of nursing/ staff to ensure the provision of high quality patient and family centred care and nursing and or midwifery excellence at unit/ward level.

How to Apply

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

1. Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
2. Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive.
3. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
4. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise.
5. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the management of the unit and the delivery of evidenced based nursing care.
6. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
7. Ability to work a rotating roster.
