Where you'll be working

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing

The Governance Officer is responsible for coordinating and managing high level

administrative functions for the Office of the General Manager, and various governance committees for Westmead Hospital. The role is complex and challenging and integral to ensuring administrative responsibilities are undertaken in an efficient, professional and timely manner.

The position holder reports to the General Manager and Patient Advice and Liason in the Office of the General Manager to high-level meeting papers, executive meetings, relevant correspondence and responses to corporate matters relevant to the hospital executive. This requires consultation with the General Manager and the Executive team, and the WSLHD Management Team.

The Governance Officer must establish collegial working relationships and maintain confidentiality, and aand a professional, courteous and positive manner in accordance with the Code of Conduct.

Selection Criteria

Demonstrated experience in providing high level managerial support to a Board and senior executive, including management of papers, agendas, minutes and action related matters.
Proven capacity to work with confidential documents
Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication capabilities.
High level organisational skills including problem solving, prioritising workload and meeting deadlines whilst exercising initiative and judgement.
Advanced proficiency in business writing including briefings, correspondence, submissions and reports on governance and other related issues.
Proficient in the use of electronic document management systems, for example, systems such as Content Manager and IMS+.
Demonstrated web publishing skills
Tertiary qualifications in business management or relevant equivalent experience.
