Randwick City Council have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Senior Building Surveyor to join our Compliance Team within the Health, Building and Regulatory Services department. If you are experienced in building regulation and development compliance, have impressive negotiating, influencing and report writing skills and you thrive in a fast paced environment, we would love to hear from you.

The successful candidate will be highly knowledgeable, skilled and experienced in building regulation and development compliance. The primary purpose of this position is to provide quality customer focus and provide professional building and compliance related services and functions.

Things you will do:

* Act as an authorised/investigation officer and implement Councils regulatory building, development control, fire safety functions
* Implement regulatory programs, assess and determine applications, certificates and action requests
* Assess and prepare reports on proposed and existing buildings
* Respond to and resolve customer enquiries in a timely and professional manner
* Negotiate and resolve building and compliance related issues and disputes to achieve satisfactory outcomes.
* Prepare reports and data on activities, investigations and cases
* Prepare reports and statements of evidence for Court proceedings and represent Council in Court where required

Employment in this position is subject to the successful completion of a Criminal History Check with a result of no relevant adverse findings.
