An opportunity exists for a Permanent Part Time, 19 hours per week, Allied Health Assistant to join the team at Bulli Hospital and Aged Care Centre. The role requires 19 hours per working week to be worked over 4 to 5 days.

What you'll be doing

This position provides assistance and support to their Allied Health Department in the delivery of services to patients / clients, under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional. The role involves assisting Allied Health Professionals in the treatment of patients, equipment cleaning / room tidying and departmental administrative responsibilities. The Allied Health Assistant may be expected to work across sites and participate in weekend work.

The Bulli Hospital and Aged Care Centre which opened on 12 August 2020, is an innovative collaboration between Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District and IRT. The new $50.4 million Bulli Hospital and Aged Care Centre has been specifically tailored to meet the requirements of the local population. This project has culminated in the construction of a new facility opposite the existing Bulli Hospital, providing state of the art care focused on geriatric medicine.

An eligibility list will be created for future Permanent Part-Time positions across the district.

Selection Criteria:

Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications.
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated organisational and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising Allied Health Professionals.
Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and principles.
Current NSW drivers licence or equivalent.
