Job Title: Accountant
Hours Per Week: Full Time (40 Hours per week)
Salary: $66,000 per annum plus 10% Superannuation
DUTIES
• Carry out fortnightly end to end payroll functions using Single Touch Payroll through MYOB, reconcile payroll, superannuation payments, and leave entitlements
• Preparation of Quarterly GST/BAS and finalizing quarterly lodgements by the due dates
• Ensure Employee superannuation obligations are fulfilled, reported to the ATO and payments are done in a timely manner through a super clearing house
• Preparation of the annual budget/budget reviews and monitor budgets against actual performance and report major variances
• Handle daily tasks related to Accounts Payable, Accounts receivables functions and daily online banking to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet immediate commitments
• Prepare Journal entries for Accruals, prepayments, and deferred revenue in accordance with the Australian Accounting Standards and maintain schedules to track sales related to product rentals
• Handling the month end process, preparation of monthly P&L analysis and balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of cost accounting reports to assist the director
• Conduct financial appraisals on clients’ proposed projects to evaluate the financial feasibility and providing recommendations
• Ensure costs of company products are accurate and up to date, reflect the latest prices; updating costs as required
• Fulfillment of statutory and regulatory obligations in relation to accounting, statutory reporting, tax, and other regulatory compliance
• Utilize and maintain an accounting system and advising on the application of computer-based accounting system (MYOB) to other departments
REQUIRED SKILLS
• CA/CPA Qualification with a minimum bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience with MYOB – AccountRight and proficiency in MS Excel
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent time management skill (manage your own workload & work effectively to meet deadlines)
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Independent and proactive
• Ability to work in a small team environment
