Aged Care Support Worker

What an Aged Care Support Worker does

Assist in the day to day care of the people you support such as, meal preparation, cleaning, personal care, other domestic duties within the home
Personal care, toileting, showering, daily grooming tasks
Assist in the administration of medication

Available to work across a 7 day roster inclusive of varied day and night shifts

Understanding of risk mitigation and the safety of yourself and others
Knowledge of mental health
Knowledge of dementia care

Essential Skills

Qualification – Possess or are currently working towards a certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support
Professional and holistic approach to Aged Care
First Aid Certificate
Computer Literacy – Ability to use Client Management Systems and MS word and emails
National Police Check
Applicable State checks to work with vulnerable people if required
Understanding of the following:
Knowledge of the legislation & regulations that underpin the Aged Care Sector
Well-developed interpersonal, written communications literacy
Drivers Licence
Comprehensively insured roadworthy vehicle (home visits)

About Sector

Aged Care Support roles are often initially on a casual basis and progress to part or full time as you continue with the organisation. Hours usually are determined on the client base and if you are adapting easily to the working environment and tasks required.
